The forum felt dead so I decided to liven it up a little with my poetry. Feel free to post your own works and comment on mine.

This is one I wrote for a girl, not too long ago. Long story short, she shot me down. Anyways, to really understand it, the situation is: I'm a Junior in HS and she is a Senior. She will be going to college in Southwest Ohio. I will be going to college in Iowa. Her freshman brother who I have become friends with because we both play on the baseball team hooked us up for prom. It was an awesome night, so I decided to try to take it a step further and wrote this for her.

As I stand watching this glowing sunset
I wish you were there by my side
To share in this brief eternity
Indulging in each others thoughts
Tearing down these barriers that seperate us
Getting lost in each others eyes
Traveling to where we want to be
Only to end up right where we are
Drawing ever closer to each other
Knowing we will soon have to part
But that will not be good bye
For our newfound bond will hold us together
The sun is now slipping under the horizon
And it is the end of another day
But it is just the beginning of a new era
Sparked by one little kiss
So this is my dream
That could very well become reality
If you were to accept my offer
And allow me to take your hand



Here is one that I wrote that many people have told me it's very deep. Kinda funny that this one is the result of my girl problems.


These Feelings

I am but a shadow of my former self
Ever present, but never noticed
The ashes of my remains blow across the sea
And through the hair of those I once loved
Damn these emotions that won't let me let go
Seemingly binding me to these people
Who have long since turned their backs on me
Their faces haunt my dreams
And cause my world to spin
These images mock me
For I cannot let the pain they cause show
If only I could let go
Of these damn emotions

Wow Baron those are both amazing poems. I used to write poetry and I don't think mine ever touched the plateu that yours is on. They are both deep and meaningful especially to anyone who has ever been in love and longed for the connection and or lost that connection. You've got talent. I'd like to see more if you decide to post more. Great job.

This one I wrote while I thought I was in love. It is not to anyone in particular. I know my english is bad, but I think it makes the poem flow better.


Judgement Day

When the trumpets sound and the charriots arrive
I want to be holding your hand standing side by side
When the buildings crumble and the cities fall
You and me will be standing tall
As the waters come and the Earth floods
We will hug each other and declare our love
Just as the sun fades on civilization
You and me will kiss in heaven


This is the first poem I wrote a little over 3 years ago. It was shortly after my 14th birthday when my grandma died


The Swan On the Shelf

Like the swan on the shelf
We are fragile as glass
Some become great
Others become flawed

And like the swan ont he shelf
We are all a creation
Formed by God
To what we are today

But like the swan on the shelf
Our lives can shatter in an instant
The fragile swan glittering beautifully
In peices, on the floor


One more just for kicks. I can't say this is one of my better poems, but I like it anyways.


Stones of Beauty

Ruby, emerald, or saphire
Which one fuels your desire
All three are quite nice
As clear, as pure as ice
Take for example, saphire
Ignites the soul like a burning fire
Shining brilliant in mezmerizing ways
Never ceasing, not once, to amaze
Then there is emerald
Serene, peaceful, and cold
Putting the soul at ease
You can be sure it will always please
Finally we have ruby
With it's flame so hot
You'll like this one a lot
So pick the one that suits you best
The jewel to hang upon your chest

But there is a certain soberness in the air
Of this late summer night
Tonight my shoulder is wet
With your salty tears

But not out of fear
Steam rises from our bodies
As we slowly sway back and forth
We lock our wet eyes
And slowly kiss just once more
We know this is the final time
We'll be able to hold each other tight
For tomorrow it's off to Iowa
To begin the rest of my life
