Reviews of episodes/movies for the main site and forum
Taken by the idea from Rioraku, I was wondering how many of you are interested in doing review(s). Its an interesting idea especially for those that love writing and of course Inuyasha fans. If you are interested and can at least try to do a review per week.. then I'll set it up. These reviews will be placed on the forum and proabably eventaully posted on the main site, of course crediting you. Also, proper sentence structure and spelling are essential. So if you are interested, leave a little post in this thread. I'll decide if this will be an active event or not depending on participants. Before you guys actually do any actual review I would like to see a sample of the work I would be expected to see from you guys. So, I would want you guys to submit a review of ANY episode to me at makino_yushiro@hotmail.com on Wednesday August 10th 2005, latest time would be 11:59PM. Of course earlier the better, so we can actually get some reviews done. I'm thinking we might do one review per week? Have an actual review done by thursday, up by Friday. If you guys want to do more during the week, tell me here. Also, I think the episodes will start with the Shichinintai Saga. Older episodes will be done on random weeks when I let one of you guys decide an episode. I'm starting with the Shichinintai because 1. Most current in North America 2. I want those watching the dub to be able to review episodes as well For those that want to review any episodes 125 and up, I assume you are sub watchers, but a majority of our reviews havent seen it yet, so until we get more reviewers we will do the episodes that have aired in North America. But anyways, submit your sample, with the episode number under these guidelines: - Tell the readers if your review is based on the Japanese or English version -Write a Short Summary of the episode, nothing too detailed -Any New Characters introduced (if applicable) -Your opinions towards the episode which may include discussion about: -Character Developments -Plot developements - Rating out of 10 - Basic recap as to why you gave the rating you did in one sentence or so. Example: Reviewing the Japanese version of Episode 1 Summary: Legend has it that those that posess the Shikon no Tama will gain incredible power. 50 years ago a demon by the name of Inuyasha tried to steal the Shikon no Tama was sealed to the Goshinboku by the miko, Kikyou. Kikyou died and took the Shikon no Tama with her to the other world. 50 years later a girl named Kagome is dragged into a well by a centipede demon. She arrives at an unknown place and sees Inuyasha sealed to the Goshinboku. Kagome was captured and brought back to a nearby village where the miko Kaede questioned her. Kaede is the younger sister of Kikyou and thought Kagome had a resemblence to her older sister so she let her go and treated her well. Later on during the night, the centipede attacked the village. Kagome ran toward the forest and Inuyasha awoke from his slumber. The centipede attacked Kagome and from her body was the Shikon no Tama. The centipede demon ate the Shikon no Tama and was no indestructable. With no other options left, Kagome broke Kikyou's seal and Inuyasha defeated the demon. However, Inuyasha is not as good a person Kagome thought, since Inuyasha will kill Kagome for the Shikon no Tama that now she posess.. New characters: Inuyasha Kikyou Kaede Kagome Kagome's Mother (Mama) Souta Kagome's grandfather (jii-chan) Buyo Mistress Centipede Opinions: The episode left an interesting impression for a first episode. Many new characters were introduced. From the beginning it is obvious that Inuyasha and kikyou are enemies, but not enough was explained. Perhaps it will be explained in the next episode or future episodes. This episode is quite significant to the series' plot due to the fact the awakening of the main character and introduction to other major characters. I really enjoyed this episode and will continue watching the series. Rating: 10/10 Again, it was a great start off for a first episode, many first episodes tend to be boring. However the episode started with a battle and ended with a cliffhanger to leave viewers wondering.. "Hey, wait a sec, isn't he suppsoe to be the good guy?" That's a basic example, I didn't put alot of thought into it, but I'm sure you got the main idea. You don't have to follow my example always, do it your style.
